My lip care routine

Hey loves! Hope you’re having a good weekend so far!

In this post I decided to share my lip care routine with you all. It’s nothing too fancy just the basics and the essentials to keep your lips moisturised and hydrated and of course pink!

Lips balms/ Chapsticks:

Pretty self explanatory, I don’t even have to explain. Pretty sure everyone has their own chapstick or lip balm. The important thing is to keep applying so as to not let your lips stay dry for a long time.

Also while choosing a lip balm opt for something which also acts as a sun protectant.

The lip balms which I’m using currently are

β€’ Biotique’s Bio berry plumping lip balm

Although it says it has lip plumping properties ( which is the main reason why I bought it in the first place) it does no such thing. It does keep my lips moisturised so I guess it does its job of being an average lip balm.

It’s also kinda unhygienic since it comes in a tub.

Smells AMAZING!

β€’ Miss Claire’s butter lip balm.

I only purchased this recently. And it’s pretty good so far. However, the tint is too bright for my liking. I end up dabbing it off which makes the lip balm fade off fasterπŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ but that’s on me since I chose this colour.

But it’s affordable and maybe I should try choosing a different colour next time. Also smells REALLY good!

I’ve used a good share of lip balms in the past like Maybelline’s baby lips, Lakme’s lip love, Nivea and such. But I wanted to try something different. Products that haven’t been hyped up enough yet.

Lip Scrubs:

You don’t have to spend on fancy lip scrubs for good looking lips. All you need is some sugar and honey and that’s that!

What I do is use a home made lip scrub.

  • Sugar
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Lemon

These are the ingredients which I use for my scrub.

~Sugar is for exfoliating

~Lemon and honey act as bleaching agents which can correct uneven pigmentation

~Cinnamon powder is to make your lips look plumper.

Optional: Add food colouring to your scrub so that it leaves a stain on your lips.

I use this lip scrub thrice every week. Although it’s more effective if you use it every alternate day.

Using a Toothbrush:

After using a lip scrub or every morning after brushing I like to use to my tooth brush to gently scrub over my lips. This really helps to remove the dead skin cells.

If you feel like a tooth brush is too harsh on your skin, you could use a towel to gently rub over your lips and this does the work too.

Water:

DRINK LOADS OF WATER!

Cannot stress just how important this is. I never usually followed this, but trust me guys I have noticed a lot of change in my skin ever since I started drinking water (a lot)

So drink up!

So that was my lip routine! I hope this helps you guys.

Thanks for reading!

Until then,

    Try beetroot someday!
It gives a nice tint and also smoothens the lips.
